A Different View

Drabble prompt: “Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.” ~Confucius

Beethoven’s 9th played softly amidst the sounds of glasses tinking and crackers crunching. Suits and ripped jeans mixed together. A couple looked at the metal-plated canvas with blues, greens, and yellows splashed and slashed across. They shrugged and moved on. A middle-aged woman jokes to another that it looks like someone regurgitated their meal. A young man stops in his tracks and cocks his head gazing at the piece. He steps closer and then back breathing in the colours’ motions and how they meld and merge. The corner of his lips turns up into a play of a smile and thinks, “This is my favorite”.
