This is your friendly blogosphere reminder that Dollhouse premieres this Friday on Fox at 9 EST!
They can be anyone you want.
They can do anything you need.
The only thing they can’t do is remember.
Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku (Faith in BtVS) reunite in this sci-fi thriller in which Dushku plays Echo, a member of an underground group whose personalities and memories have been erased and imprinted with new ones. For a price, an Active become a lover, an assassin, or whomever the client hires them to be. Between missions, Actives are confined to a secret facility called the Dollhouse and their memories are wiped clean. As her self-awareness and memories return, Echo wants to discover her true identity, but each new mission brings increased danger. Dollhouse also stars Dichen Lachman, Olivia Williams, Harry Lennix, Fran Kranz, Tahmoh Penikett, and Enver Gjokaj.
You can wipe away a memory,
but can you wipe away a soul?
I seldom watch a TV show when it’s actually broadcast, but my calendar has been marked with Dollhouse‘s premiere date since it was announced. I’ve been looking forward to seeing this show since last year when Joss Whedon (creator/director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and Angel) said it was in the works. Yea, I’m just a bit excited about finally being able to see the product of all that brain storming and studio time. I’ve said this countless times before and I’ll say it again, Joss is bloody brilliant.
Understanding the Dollhouse:
Should one not be able to see the Friday night premiere (9/8 C) due to memory lapse, timing, or location, Dollhouse might be viewable online via Fox network or some other resource. I’ll be recording it the “old fashioned way” so friends (and myself again) can see it later. Besides, it’ll be awhile yet before season one is available on DVD. Oh yea, aside from Joss’s shows being the few I regularly watch, they’re also the only series that I’m inclined to purchase.
